The purpose of this site is to serve as a warning to Catholics
who are unfamiliar with the illicit status of the Society of St. Pius the Tenth (SSPX) and the dangers it poses to them.
It is not intended to try to convince Society stalwarts
and partisans of the error of their position.
If you believe the Society is doing what it should do, please do not bother contacting
me to try to convince me of the correctness of your beliefs. I will not engage in debate with you as it would be a waste
of my time and yours. I have heard all the arguments since 1993 and none of them can excuse the illicit status of the
Society of St. Pius the Tenth and its renegade clergy.
If, however, you are someone who has stumbled across this group, or,
if you have had an association with it, but, feel that something is not quite right and you have legitmate questions concerning
it, because you wish to maintain true fidelity to the Church and the barque of Peter, then, by all means, feel free to contact
me with questions and inquiries.
What is contained in this site is either from my personal experiences and research,
and that of those who have worked closely with me, or, it has been gleaned from others in the United States and other countries
of the world who have taken the time to contact me. There are also many articles penned by different authors as well
as informational links to many websites in order to help those who have questions about the SSPX understand the true nature
of this group.
You will find no sources listed for much of the material. This is because so
many people, when they have written, faxed or emailed me, have requested anonymity out of real sense of fear, real or imagined,
for themselves, as in the case of those still attending Mass with the Society, or, fear for friends and relatives who live
in areas, such as St. Mary's, Kansas and Post Falls, Idaho, where the Society has many followers. We have been told
by those with whom we have been in contact that people have been singled out for censure from the pulpit because either they
or someone else has done something to displease the Society.
I make no pretense that this publication is any sort of serious literary work; it
is not, but, then, it was never meant to be such. I have attempted to give the reader a set of, if you will, verbal snapshots
of this group, and, thereby, provide a mozaic of the characters who run it and the nature of their policies and actions. It
is also an effort to show that despite their claim to be Catholic, the Society, in its rebellion against Rome, is merely another
group of liberals like any Protestant sect.
I would be interested in any comments that you would care to make concerning this
material as well as any personal experiences you might have had with this group. Over the years, the Society's leadership
has refused to answer my inquiries. Because Catholics face a real danger to their salvation by an association with the
Society, and, because the Society is not under the discipline of Rome, I have created this site so that inquirers may decide
for themselves whether they wish to begin an association with the SSPX or discontinue an existing one. Besides my experiences,
I have to rely on what my readers hear and observe in order to arrive at the truth concerning Society actions and policies.
The amount of information about the Society from various sources has grown from year
to year. Where around 1995 Agenda was virtually alone in providing information on this group, many can now be found.
More people are willing to reveal their experiences as information from others becomes available. Many former Society
patrons have told us that they didn't realize the magnitude of the problem. They thought that it was just something
bizarre or disturbing which was happening only within their mission or chapel. But as we found out during our initial
investigations in '93 and '94, that wasn't the case and these people were not alone, just as we thought what had transpired
at Our Lady Immaculate was isolated. But our many contacts showed us this was not the case. Email contacts alone,
in my archives, are over two hundred and fifty individuals with almost another one hundred in letters and about half that
number as faxes. About twelve per cent of this total have been from Society patrons who have wished to defend the Society.
It became quite clear how the Society viewed its relationship with its patrons, the obedience it expected of them, the bizarre
and strident rules, regulations, beliefs and criticisms of the Church and the Holy Father - these were actually quite commonplace
in all too many Society chapels and missions and not at all isolated instances.
I would appreciate, in the interest of truth, any corrections concerning incidents
mentioned within as well as any new information you might be able to provide. If you can clarify any item in this publication,
please contact me using the information at the bottom of this page to do so. I request a written communication rather than
a phone call for I find it difficult to take notes while talking with someone and a hard copy is prefered for my files.
As I have done since the beginning of this project, I will respect your anonymity if you request it.
I also wish to thank everyone who has worked with me through the early days of Agenda
in 1993 and '94 and spent so much of their time and resources making the phone calls, sending and receiving the faxes and
writing the letters to people in Society missions and chapels throughout the United States. The yeoman duty they performed
provided valuable insight, information and links to others in various Society locations which helped to give us a much better
picture of this group. It would have been almost impossible for me to have done this on my own. I pray the Good
Lord's choicest blessings upon you and your families for this terribly time consuming and difficult work.
