Fooling Some of the People Some of the Time
This is something I didn't notice until this year (2007).
One has to ask who the Society thinks they are kidding with this bit of etching in the brickwork of the Society's church
in Oak Park, Illinois? I'm referring to the date in this picture.

The Mission of Our Lady Immaculate did not acquire this
building until 1990. So why does the date show on the building as 1982?
1982 might be the year the Society founded the Mission
of Our Lady Immaculate and first came in to say Mass at the Shrine of Christ the King in Winfield, Illinois in March
of that year. But, it is neither the date the building
was built (1920) or acquired nor when it was consecrated.
The location of this plaque is on the east side of the
southeast corner of this converted Presbyterian church as is shown in the highlighted area of the picture below.

For those who are patrons of the SSPX, you might want to ask the Society
for an explanation. Are they trying to give the impression they've been in that church, the neighborhood, or, operating
in the Archdiocese of Chicago illicitly longer than they have? Sure looks like it, otherwise there would have
been a clarification with the date.
